"Anzuru yori umu ga yasushi" means, "Doing it is easier than worrying about it." A lot of us spend so much time worrying about being able to do something when the actual doing of it really isn't that hard at all. To some extent, worrying about things helps us to prepare for them, but if we worry too much it actually wastes energy, especially if it gets in the way or makes us too afraid of actually doing something about it.

"Just do it" as Nike would say! For me currently it has been difficult with the training of the new job and moving into a new apartment, but worrying too much about it would not been to helpful. Instead I just did what I needed to do and everything is starting to feel a lot lighter and easier. Some might also say "worrying is like a rocking chair, it can go back and forth, but it will never get you anywhere!"

  2. TravisGaniko commented: Avatar I think a perfect American translation would be Nike's signature slogan, "Just do it." But i think that this proverb works half the time, because while I agree that sometimes you can just wing it in whatever you are doing, you will also sometimes have to have method to your madness, and have some sort of thought before you do something.

  3. MelHaraguchi replied: Avatar I agree with this proverb because for me I tend to procastinate a lot about doing things because I worry too much about actually doing it! So yeah sometimes you should just do it, and if you do it wrong then hopefully you have a chance to do it again. If you don't (do it properly) there's also that proverb : "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again". I think that's how it goes.
