When I was at Foodland purchasing Gobou,
the cashier asked me "what is this?"
Without thinking I responded in Japanese "Gobou desu."
The cashier didn't understand and asked the next cashier over if she knew what it was?
They didn't pay attention to me.
What is that? In English what is this?
I really wanted to know.

I don't know how to explain it in English, but in Japanese it is called Gobou.

In English what is this called?
