The dolphins and I

There are many kinds of dolphins, and certain types of dolphins live in certain oceans. For example, places in Japan that are famous for dolphins that love to swim with humans are Ogasawara and Mikura-jima. These islands are part of Tokyo.

I am riding a boat to a place where I can see dolphins. When dolphins come within arm's length of you, anyone would be excited. However, there is something that holds me back. In the ocean, if a dolphin comes close enough that I can reach out and touch it I want to touch it, I want to take pictures of it, and I want to go after it with all my heart. However, for the things that live wild in the sea, being touched by a human can make them sick. This doesn't only apply to dolphins. I can't always expect them come and swim with me. I feel humbled thinking that we humans are intruding into their ocean. Also, we shouldn't put our desire to play with the dolphins first. We should first consider how the dolphins feel.
